Nestled between sections of the San Isabel National Forest with magnificent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Eden West Ranch at 7000 feet sits on 192 acres with a section of Texas Creek flowing year-round, growing lavender fields, and peaceful accommodations surrounded by lush summer green lawns. We are 6 miles from the Arkansas River and bordered by BLM Land for all your outdoor activities. Nearby towns offer many shopping and dining attractions, with the Royal Gorge Park a short drive away. Check out our Area Guide to plan your stay with us.
Originally a working cattle ranch beginning in the early 1940's by William P. Hoffman, a stock broker from New York, upon his retirement, Eden West has been many things and enjoyed it's share of notoriety. The Lodge, a beautiful 6,000 square foot log house, has hosted visitors such as Liberace (pianist), Kay Starr (pop/jazz singer), and Jane Fonda (actress), who stayed in one of our cabins during the filming of "Comes a Horseman" in 1978.
You may request the Master Suite, a large bedroom with an outside deck and sitting room ($200 more). There is also a master suite in the yellow house, this room has a king bed, and a Jacuzzi tub ($100 more). These rooms may be taken and generally go to couples with non-painting spouses. All of the other rooms are the rate listed ($2595 + lodging and food tax). All the accommodations are very inviting and comfortable.
Chefs Michael and Steve from Rustingram Catering will be preparing all of our meals as well as appetizers at the close of class. We can accommodate any dietary issues you may have.
The cabins have fireplaces and laundry facilities with kitchenettes. (You won’t need to cook however or hopefully do laundry!) Massage is also available after class and into early evening upon request. A few of the rooms do share a bath, most are private.
There is no cell service at this ranch however free long distance and WIFI for your tablets and laptops.
